about

Ryan Cullen is a critically acclaimed Irish stand-up comedian from Donegal, Ireland, now based in Scotland, known for jet-black humour, razor-sharp one-liners, and a brutally efficient deadpan delivery.  His comedy thrives in the darkest corners, earning huge laughs while pushing audiences right to the edge of their comfort zone.

A regular at major international festivals, Ryan has performed to acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe (Best of the Edinburgh Fest), Barcelona Fringe, Electric Picnic, Vodafone Comedy Carnivals (Dublin & Galway), Snowbombing, Altitude Comedy Festival, Otherlands, and more.

He has supported acts including Daniel Sloss, Theo Von, and Steve-O, and regularly headlines leading clubs across the UK and Ireland, including The Comedy Store London, The Stand, Monkey Barrel, Glee Clubs, Frog and Bucket, Manfords, The Laughter Lounge, The International, Lavery’s, and The Belfast Empire.

Internationally, Cullen is recognised as one of the elite roast battlers in the world. He has finished Top 4 worldwide and is consistently ranked in the global Top 10, while also running Roast Battle Scotland. He has performed at legendary venues such as The Comedy Store (Los Angeles) and Denver Comedy Works, cementing his reputation on the global roast circuit.

Off stage, Ryan is an accomplished comedy writer with credits including Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC), Republic of Telly, Clear History, Late Licence (BBC NI), and Callan’s Kicks (RTÉ).

Online, he was a core performer on the hugely popular Facts (700M+ views, 1.5M subscribers) and TRY Channel (1.3M subscribers) until 2019.  He co-hosts the comedy podcast Absolute Cuts with Mark Nelson and has appeared on BBC’s The Comedy Underground, MTV, and RTÉ.

Ryan Cullen is one of my favourite comedians. Hilarious and so dark you think, ‘How the f**k did he end up like this?’”
— Daniel Sloss (Netflix)
“That was the best roast battle I’ve ever seen.”
— Tony Hinchcliffe
“Big laughs. His material has the ruthlessness of a young Jimmy Carr and the sexual turpitude of Jim Jefferies at his most priapic. This is extraordinary stuff.”
— Kate Copstick, The Scotsman
