Rob Deering performs stand-up comedy with music, using a guitar, a loop pedal and his voice to create impressive rock and pop soundscapes – and do jokes, of course.Along with being one of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit, he’s toured nationally and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe many times since starting out in comedy in the year 2000. His late-night, live-music comedy pop quiz Beat This is a festival institution, on London’s South Bank, at Wales’ Green Man and many more besides Edinburgh.Rob has performed throughout the world, in shows from the Middle East to Melbourne, Shanghai to the South of France, and he has appeared on any number of Radio and TV shows, often using his extensive knowledge of film, popular music and… well, ‘general’; he has won Celebrity Mastermind and a comedians’ special of the Weakest Link on BBC One, for example.He also recently ran all over Britain for BBC 6 Music. Yes, Rob runs, presenting the podcast Running Commentary with fellow running comic Paul Tonkinson, and fundraising for his favoured charity Parkinson’s UK; he has run seven marathons. He produces and hosts Parkinson’s UK’s annual gig Shake With Laughter at London’s Comedy Store, where he is also a regular member of the Cutting Edge topical comedy team.
Dundee's finest comedian Steve Mcleod burst onto the scottish comedy scene in 2018 and is now one of scotland's rising comedy stars. Steve got hooked into comedy by attending one of our comedian recruitment open days.Since then he has over 100 shows under his belt, performed at the biggest clubs in the UK and has recently supported top names such as Larry Dean, Gary Meikle and Fred MacAulay and now performs all over the UK.His warm charm and funny will certainly cheer you up.
An actor, writer, and comic, ML is best known for her role as Maggie in BBC Scotland's hit comedy 'Scot Squad', and was a previous semi-finalist in both 'Scotland's Comedian of The Year’ and ‘Funny Women UK’. (Other accolades include being a Blue Peter badge holder, and passing her cycling proficiency first time). Nowadays she continues to write for BBC radio, and can be seen performing on the Scottish Comedy Circuit, particularly in the north-east where she’s based.
